We would like to invite you to participate in the 1st Spanish Soft Matter 1 ½ Day, which will be held on Oct 30 and 31, 2023 in Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual; see https://www.benasque.org/2023ssm/. The meeting is hosted by the Spanish Division of Condensed Matter Physics (GEFES) of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics (RSEF).
Confirmed invited speakers:
- Eva González Noya (Instituto de Química-Física Rocasolano, CSIC, Madrid)
- Juan Colmenero de León (Centro de Física de Materiales, CSIC & UPV, Donostia)
- Enrique Velasco (Dept. Física Teórica de la Materia Condensada & IFIMAC, UAM, Madrid)
- Ignacio Pagonabarraga (Dept. Física de la Materia Condensada, UB, Barcelona)
Aiming at bringing together soft matter researchers working in this vibrant field within Spain, we hope you will attend irrespective of your type of contribution (short oral or poster), as one of the goals is to create community and explore synergies and possible collaborations. The registration fee is 100 EUR and includes coffee breaks, transportation from Barcelona to Benasque and help with lodging reservations. Registration is already open here (at the bottom of the page). If you are considering joining us, we encourage you to register ASAP as only limited places are available!
We particularly welcome attendance of graduate students, post-docs and young faculty, and hope the meeting will become the first of a yearly series, to be celebrated in the “puente de los santos” week, for soft matter researchers in Spain to meet and discuss their latest findings and discoveries.
Organised by JL Aragones (IFIMAC-UAM), LR Arriaga (IFIMAC-UAM), A Fernandez-Nieves (UB-ICREA), M Ruiz-García (UCM).
