Daan Frenkel professor at University of Cambridge and member of Scientific Advisory Board of IFIMAC – Condensed Matter Physics Center has been awarded the Boltzmann Medal for 2016, the most important prize awarded in the field of statistical mechanics.
The Boltzmann Medal (or Boltzmann Award) is the most important prize awarded to physicists that obtain new results concerning statistical mechanics, it is named after the celebrated physicist Ludwig Boltzmann.
Daan will receive the award for his seminal contributions to the Statistical Mechanics understanding of the kinetics, self-assembly and phase behaviour of complex macro-molecular, colloidal and biomolecular systems through highly innovative simulation methodologies. [Read more]
