Super-resolution imaging techniques have enhanced our ability to image objects at the nanoscale by overcoming many of the constraints inherently imposed by diffraction-limit optical microscopy. In this Article, a new super-resolution scheme is presented based on composite photonic–plasmonic structure illumination with a theoretical spatial resolution of λ/8. The cover shows theoretical contour plots of the Fourier optics images of a V-shaped object under standard diffraction-limited microscopy (left) and the proposed composite structured illumination microscopy (right).
