The ERC Starting Grant project Tuning Heat Transport in 2D Materials with Defects (HeaT2Defects) focuses on analysing how defects at the atomic level in two-dimensional materials, such as graphene, affect heat transport. To do this, his team will start by studying how individual defects, such as the absence of an atom, affect heat transport, and will develop new techniques to enable these studies. With the knowledge gained, Pablo and his team will seek to exploit these defects to create thermal devices. This is important because thermal management is fundamental in today’s electronics, and understanding the effect of these defects can help to design more efficient devices with better thermal performance.
We congratulate Pablo Ares García!
